STRUCTURED INTERVIEWS
Design the interview
before anyone
joins the call.
Lay out the sections, set the time for each question, and pull from a question bank you build over time. Every interview runs to the same plan, so the conversation is the same shape for every candidate.
- One plan per round
- Timed to fit
- Reusable questions
What is structured interview software?
Structured interview software gives every candidate for a role the same job-related questions, the same evaluation criteria and the same scoring scale. Panelynx holds that plan against the vacancy, so each round opens from it, and connects it to the scorecard and the hiring decision rather than leaving it in a document nobody opens during the interview.
Everything the plan carries,
before the room opens.
A plan is more than a question list. It is the shape of the round, the bar for each answer, and who is asking what.
Sections
Break the round into sections and give each one its own purpose.
Timed to fit
Each section and question carries a time estimate, so the round stays on plan.
Competencies
Map every question to the competency it is there to test.
Look-fors
Say what a good answer sounds like, and what should worry an interviewer.
Rubrics
Anchor each score so a 4 means the same thing to the whole panel.
One library
every plan pulls from.
Questions live in a bank you build over time, tagged by competency and difficulty. Start the next role from it instead of a blank page.
- Tag by competency and difficulty
- Variants, so two panelists can ask the same question differently
- Reuse a saved plan as the starting point for the next role

You keep or edit.
Ask for a first pass at a round and Panelynx drafts sections, questions and look-fors from the vacancy. Nothing enters the plan until a person keeps it.
- Drafts are marked, so you always know what came from AI
- Keep, edit or discard each question
- The plan is yours the moment you save it
Book the round on Google Calendar.
Panel availability, invites and reminders run on Google Calendar. Send a candidate a link and they pick a slot that fits the whole panel.

The same plan opens in the live workspace, and the same competencies become the scorecard everyone fills in.

Interview plans are part of the Panelynx applicant tracking system, so a plan is attached to a real vacancy and a real candidate instead of living in a tool of its own.

Questions people ask about structured interviews
If yours is not here, ask it. Yohan answers these himself.
Ask a questionWhat is a structured interview?
One where every candidate for a role meets the same questions, judged against criteria agreed before anyone was interviewed. The opposite is the interview where each panelist asks whatever they remember to ask and everyone forms an impression a different way.
Do we have to write every question ourselves?
No. AI can suggest questions, generate variants and draft follow-ups; you tick the ones you keep, and that is free rather than metered. Question banks and plans are reusable company objects, so the second role you hire for starts from the first. The bank has a size limit that rises with the rung.
Can an interviewer go off-plan?
Yes, and they should when a candidate says something worth following. The plan sets what everyone must cover, not a script they may not leave.
Does the plan carry a rubric, or just questions?
Each question can carry what a good answer looks like, what to listen for, the red flags and an optional five-point scale. That is what makes two interviewers score the same answer the same way.
Does Panelynx record or transcribe the interview?
Panelynx never joins a call and never records it. You can upload a transcript your meeting tool already produced, from Meet, Zoom or Teams, and Panelynx will parse it into speaker-attributed segments to read alongside the scorecards. That is on Premium. Everything else it works from is what interviewers wrote down.
Which plan includes structured interviews?
Every rung, starting on Starter. What the rung changes is how much of it you get: how many interview plans you can hold at once, how many questions your bank can carry, and how many A/B variants a question set may have. The pricing page shows the number for each. AI plan drafting starts on Growth.
